The Boycott Antigua Movement
Boycott Antigua is a collective and a movement.
We are a group of investors who were defrauded from Standford International Bank Ltd. We were further insulted when Antigua’s Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer approved the seizure of Allen Stanford’s assets before the receiver appointed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) claimed them. (2/27/09)
By not allowing the SEC to liquidate the assets of Allen Stanford and thus return losses to defrauded investors, the Senate of Antigua sent a clear message to investors who had come to Antigua to bank: we do not care about you.
We had taken our hard earned dollars and contributed to the economy of Antigua by flying into their airports, staying in their hotels, shopping in their stores, eating at their restaurants, and yes, investing in their banks. The Senate of Antigua has in turn not acted responsibly and fairly towards those who have invested in their country.
And we, in turn, Boycott Antigua.
We will not vacation in Antigua. We will tell our friends not to vacation in Antigua. We will flood travel agencies and websites with this message, write to our local news outlets, and take out ads in travel magazines and guides.
We hope the Government of Antigua and Barbuda will consider the ramifications of their decision to intentionally cast away the interests of those of us who have already lost so much by the actions of those operating in their country.
We are small in number, but we are growing quickly. If you have been defrauded by Stanford International Bank Ltd. under Allen Stanford and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and would like to join our movement, please email us at boycottantigua@gmail.com. In the coming days we will have press releases, information on how you can help, and more.
Sincerely,
Boycott Antigua
